Over 100,000 Americans died from drug overdoses in the 12-month period ending in April 2021 according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This is nearly double the number of deaths of U.S. soldiers during the Vietnam War. The opioid crisis, including both prescription opioids and illegal opioids like heroin and fentanyl, are taking a devastating toll on our country.
